“He’s Alive!”
Fear gripped the hearts of the family, and a sense of deepening gloom was sweeping over the residents of Northeast Ohio as the search continued for two-year-old missing Rainn Peterson who had wandered from her great-grandparents’ home. Searching by foot, by air, on ATV, and on horseback, hundreds of searchers combed the surrounding countryside. Police were less than one hour away from changing the mission from “search and rescue” to “recovery.”
Then everything changed! Victor Sutton could not think of giving up. Searching relentlessly he spotted something purple off to his side. Knowing that Rainn was last seen wearing a purple shirt, his heart sank as he turned off the ATV. Then everything changed. Rainn sat up. Though sick, dehydrated, and covered in flies, Rainn was alive. Calling on his cell phone, Victor screamed, “I’ve found her. She’s alive. She’s alive!”
Likewise, imagine the thrill and joy the disciples experienced that day when they learned that Christ was alive! The angels said, “He is not here: for He is risen, as He said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay. And go quickly, and tell His disciples that He is risen from the dead…And they departed quickly from the sepulcher with fear and great joy; and did run to bring His disciples word” (Matthew 28:6-8).
He’s alive!
