“Beloved, do not think it strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened to you; but rejoice to the extent that you partake of Christ’s sufferings, that when His glory is revealed, you may also be glad with exceeding joy” (1 Peter 4:12-13). When hard times come, many believers find help by remembering this little acrostic.
R stands for Remember that He is God (Psalm 46:10).
E stands for Examine my life. Am I ready to receive His teaching (Psalm 25:5).
A stands for Admit my need for Him and His wisdom (James 1:5).
D stands for Depend fully upon Him. Run to Him and trust Him (Hebrews 4:16).
E stands for Express worship and praise to Him even in the hard times (Psalm 100).
R stands for Read the Word and Respond obediently to what He says (Hebrews 11:6).
