“Casting all your care upon Him: for He careth for you” (1 Peter 5:7).
I read recently of a police officer who came upon a shivering and fearful homeless man. This police officer took time to purchase with his own funds warm socks and heavy work shoes for the homeless man. This homeless man was last seen shaking the police officer’s hand and thanking him for caring. Many others had passed by the afflicted man, but it was the officer who cared enough to help. This is a very tiny picture of what you and I have experienced from the loving care of our awesome God. Think back over the many times you have cast your anxieties on the Lord. Remember how He has cared for you? May this be a little reminder of how much He cares about you today. Don’t carry the burden of your cares. Cast them upon Him. He cares for you.
For today: My burdens are too heavy for me to carry. So are yours. We both need to cast them on the Lord.
