“For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, of Whom the whole family in Heaven and earth is named. That He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might by His Spirit in the inner man” (Ephesians 3:14-15).
“So what’s one of the most difficult things facing Christian counselors today?” one of the young men in the pastoral division of the Bible Institute asked his professor. “I will give you the top five most difficult things. They might surprise you. 5. Lives have become more twisted in sinful situations, and sometimes there are some real complications. 4. Dealing with people who claim to know Christ and yet know little or nothing about the Scriptures. 3. Seeing people who are not willing to do their homework and be faithful. 2. Trying to help someone who really doesn’t want help. Are you ready for number 1?” the professor asked. “The number 1 challenge I face is getting people to be honest. Instead of saying, ‘I can’t,’ I want them to be honest and simply say, ‘I won’t.’ When God’s strength is available from the resources of His riches in glory, He can help us with anything.”
