“I cried unto God…In the day of my trouble I sought the Lord…I remembered God…I call to remembrance my song in the night (Psalm 77:1, 2, 3, 6).
For our Daily Prescription today, I lifted from the text these several phrases because Asaph’s determination is such a blessing. In spite of difficult times and deeply disturbing situations, he proclaims concerning the Lord, “I cried. I sought. I remembered. I called to remembrance my song in the night.” When you are facing difficult times, do not turn from the Lord. Do not allow bitterness to develop. Be respectful, but be honest with the Lord. Asaph was, and guess what? God gave him a song in the night. He will do the same thing with you. Believe me; I know this to be true.
For today: Whatever you are facing, don’t face it alone. If you know Christ as your Savior, He will give you a song in the night!
