“Before I was afflicted I went astray: but now have I kept Thy Word” (Psalm 119:67).
“Wow, Marvin! I want to tell you that the Lord surely has my attention,” Scott said from his hospital bed. “My wife has been speaking to me about the Lord. I used to walk pretty faithfully with Him, Marvin, but things happened. I allowed things to happen. I took my eyes off the Lord and was a pretty self-sufficient man. What a fool I’ve been. I want you to know that I’ve come back just like the young prodigal son. Thank you so much for praying for me all these months, Marvin,” Scott humbly said. It was a great conversation in the hospital that day.
I do have a very personal question for you. Please take it as coming from an old friend. Here it is. How is it with you, my friend? Is the Lord trying to get your attention? The Psalmist knew the joy of keeping His Word after earlier going astray.
I don’t know what you are facing right at this given moment. But I do know that in every situation, especially those times in our lives when it is confusing and we aren’t sure what to do, we need God’s Word. He does have ways to get our attention if we’re not willing to listen. It is so wise to walk humbly and joyfully with our amazing God. How greatly He desires your fellowship.
