“But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asks you a reason of the hope that is in you, with meekness and fear” (1 Peter 3:15).

So America celebrates another year.

I know that my Daily Prescriptions go around the world. However, for those who are citizens of the United States of America, may I ask what you are giving to your country as a birthday gift this year? I know that sounds like a silly question, but it really isn’t. Think of it. The best birthday gift you could give your country is to give your Lord the rightful place in your life. This means that we are to be in a state of readiness to give a Biblical answer when asked about the hope that is in us. The best birthday gift is to reply with a spirit of gentle humility and respect. That’s the birthday gift I am asking the Lord to help me to give to my country. This is the gift that is needed not just on the 4th of July but every day of the year.

For today: May Christ be seen in us, and may we speak of Him to others.
