“As far as the east is from the west, so far hath He removed our transgressions from us” (Psalm 103:12).

Tim came to the Pastor’s office without an appointment. Standing at the door for a moment, he was about to leave when Pastor Kenward looked up from his desk. “May I help you? I don’t think I’ve met you before,” the pastor said. Coming around the front of his desk, he reached out to the unexpected visitor and invited him to come in and be seated. As the conversation moved along for the next hour, the man shared with the pastor his long and sad story of failure and sinfulness. Pastor Kenward took him through the plan of salvation, explaining very clearly to him that the Lord Jesus took his punishment and how much He longed to be his Savior. Sure enough, in tears of repentance and joy, Tim prayed and asked the Lord Jesus to come into his life. The pastor invested much teaching and follow-up with this new Christian.  But before Tim left that day, Pastor Kenward took him to Psalm 103:12. He explained that if God took our sins away as far as the north is from the south, we could measure that. But taking them away as far as the east is from the west is nothing that we can begin to pinpoint. Tim left the pastor’s office a new man in Christ that day.

For today: I am so glad that the Lord Jesus has taken my sins as far as the east is from the west. Do you know Him as your own Savior?
