“Be Thou my strong habitation, whereunto I may continually resort…for Thou art my Rock and my Fortress” (Psalm 71:3).
“I feel like I have no place that I can call home anymore,” Jane sobbed as she talked with her pastor. “Since my mom and dad divorced and sold our family home, I feel like I have no security.” The kind pastor listened with great sympathy and understanding. “Jane,” he said quietly. “I went through the exact same feelings when my parents divorced. I felt like I didn’t belong anywhere. I felt like I could never go home again. Then when I became a Christian, I discovered the truth that God Himself was my strong habitation or my secure fortress. You will find that the Lord Himself can supply everything that we need and even more.” That day was a turning point for Jane. Now years later she loves knowing that the Lord Himself is her strong habitation. How about you? Do you know the Lord personally?
For today: What a wonderful Lord to Whom we belong. As the old song says, “He’s everything to me.”
