“Unto me, who am less than the least of all saints, is this grace given, that I should preach among the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ” (Ephesians 3:8).

For the last several days we’ve been thinking about the supreme riches of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Paul speaks of these riches as part of His inheritance (Ephesians 1:18). It will take the ages to come to begin to fully comprehend it (Ephesians 2:7).

Now Paul explains that the riches of Christ in personal and practical ways is lived out as He strengthens His people. “That He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might by His Spirit in the inner man” (Ephesians 3:16). The riches of Christ does not guarantee us wealth, fame, or ease in this present life. It does, however, guarantee that the provision of strength to live for Him is available to all His people. Oh, friends, what wonderful truth and encouragement for us today. It is not how strong I am. It is all about how strong my Lord is and how incredible His abundant power is.

For today: Whatever you are facing today, do not try to face it alone. Turn fully to your Lord. Give it to Him. Trust His powerful provision for strength. The riches of His glory will be the strength you need.
