“For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that He might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened” (made alive) “by the Spirit” (1 Peter 3: 18).
Ashleigh took a seat in the waiting room of a very busy Emergency Room. There was only a place for her mommy and herself. Eight-year-old Ashleigh had taken quite a nasty tumble from her bicycle and was going to need some stitches in her knee. She was quite taken by the many people with many obvious symptoms such as coughing, looking very ill, and several people with injuries. Suddenly her eyes looked up on the wall across the room, and there was a crucifix depicting the dead Jesus. “Mom,” she said right out loud, “look, Mom! No one told them that Jesus isn’t dead anymore! He’s alive! Why do they still have Him on the cross? Didn’t anyone tell them? Don’t they know?” she said even louder. Her mom tried quieting her somewhat as an elderly lady seated behind them said, “Sadly, little girl, many of them don’t know that the Lord Jesus rose. I take it that you do know Him. I trusted Him only a few years ago. I’m so glad He’s alive!” It was a sweet time in the ER.
For today: Wherever you are today, aren’t you glad that He’s alive!? Don’t keep it a secret!
