“Let every thing that hath breath praise the LORD. Praise ye the LORD” (Psalm 150:6).
It would be the first time that Pastor Kenward returned to pulpit ministry following the latest major back surgery. The surgical pain was still uncomfortable, and he admittedly was moving a little gingerly. It nonetheless was great being back with his church family, and they loved having him back.
Standing up to greet the church family, with a smile on his face he asked, “So, I would like a show of hands, please. How many in this church family right this very moment are…” and he paused to capture their attention. In a few seconds he added the final word of the sentence, “…breathing?”
Everyone chuckled and most, if not everyone, raised their hand. “Fine! Glad to hear it,” the pastor said. “Then everyone with the upraised hand, let’s worship the Lord together!” What a grand reminder from Psalm 150:6. The pastor had been thinking about this subject of “breathing.” I’ll share more with you tomorrow.
We are in this together and it is wonderful! You and I , of course, are breathing. So you and I, of course, will be praising. How awesome is our God.
