“I will praise the LORD according to His righteousness: and will sing praise to the name of the LORD Most High” (Psalm 7:17).
Melba was reclining in her hospital bed as the pastor walked into her room. Before the pastor could say one word to her, she growled at him and said, “I know you are here to cheer me up, and I just want you to know that nothing you can say to me will cheer me in any way. So don’t even try it.” The pastor had known Melba for a very brief time as he had only served her church family for a few months. He sincerely sympathized with Melba and genuinely was concerned for her. “I do want you to consider praising the Lord, Melba. I think you might have more reasons to be thankful than what you are considering this morning. However, if you have nothing for which to be praising Him today, then you can still be praising Him according to His righteousness.” How about you? How will this play out in your life today?
For today: Lord, I have much for which to praise You today. Much! How about you?
