“Hast thou not known? Hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the Lord, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? There is no searching of His understanding” (Isaiah 40:28).
It was Friday, and it was the last day of Daily Vacation Bible School. All week long Marsha loaded up their van with her own children as well as several neighborhood children to participate in V.B.S. at their local church. It was a great week as the children learned more about our great God. The theme of the V.B.S. was “Our Great God Never Gets Tired!” and it was based on Isaiah 40:28. Little six years old Peggy had received permission from Mom and Dad to stay up as late as she could possibly make it on that Friday evening. Peggy was sure she would be able to stay awake until midnight! By 9:30 she had fallen asleep on her daddy’s lap. The rest of the family giggled quietly as Dad carried his little girl up to bed. About halfway up the steps a groggy little Peggy mumbled, “God never gets tired, but I am, Daddy!” Come to think of it, friends, isn’t it wonderful that our God never grows weary? He is ever awake, alert, and fulfilling His purpose and plans which include us! We get tired, but He never does!
For today: I am glad to belong to the God who is always awake and in control!
