“Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ” (Romans 5:1).
What a powerful lesson in Theology lies in this simple but stunning statement penned by the Apostle Paul. Through faith in Christ alone, the tremendous blessing of justification takes place. Some like to make the statement that justification is “just as if I never sinned.” Sounds good, doesn’t it? The problem is that justification is better than never sinning. That would only be innocence. In justification, God acquits His child of the verdict of condemnation and declares His child to be righteous in Christ. You cannot buy this, earn this, find this, nor can you merit this. It is only through faith in Christ.
For today: Thank the Lord often for His amazing justification through Christ.
