“I was envious at the foolish, when I saw the prosperity of the wicked…when I thought to know this, it was too painful for me; until I went into the sanctuary of God; then understood I their end” (Psalm 73:3, 16-17).
“I used to live with jealousy and anger. Every day it seemed to worsen,” Maddie said. “I was jealous of those who don’t know Christ as their Savior. It is just not fair, I thought, when I saw their houses, their cars, their ability to have children, and their apparent wealth,” she continued. Speaking to a large group of teens at her church, she asked them two very probing questions. She spoke very directly when she asked, “What causes you to be jealous?” Many answers surfaced. In conclusion she asked the second question, “How are you doing viewing things with an eternal perspective?” What a great and honest presentation Maddie had that night. It matched perfectly the testimony of Asaph in Psalm 73. The sanctuary is where Asaph got his priorities back into eternal perspective. We do this by getting back into the Word and fellowship with the Lord and His people.
For today: Keep eternity in view, dear friend. It will help you to view others and their situations from God’s point of view.
