“Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus, by a new and living way, which He has consecrated for us, through the veil, that is to say, His flesh; And having an high priest over the house of God; Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith…” (Hebrews 10:19-22a).
I cannot begin to imagine what it must have been like for the High Priest and his family on the Day of Atonement when he was to go behind the veil into the presence of the awesome and holy Lord God. It must have been a sober and terrifying experience. What a great joy you and I have as the Lord’s people today in this age of the church. Those who know Christ as Savior are His people and priests. Not just once a year, but often throughout the day, we come directly before Him. We worship, pray and offer the spiritual sacrifices of surrender to Him. What a great privilege is ours!
For today: Coming before the Lord ought never to be commonplace, but it must be consistent. Have you invested time with the Lord today?
