“Serve the Lord with gladness” (Psalm 100:2).
As believers, we have the privilege of serving the Lord as we interact with people. Life is hard here on earth and there are times that the messiness that comes with brokenness and sin can seem overwhelming. Recently I shared with a group of servants that even though we have served through some very difficult situations, always our service is to be done with gladness!
There are many things that gladden our hearts and cause us joy. Here are just a couple of the blessings we believers possess.
Our focus is still on the Lord Jesus Christ as we learn of Him. “Come unto Me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of Me” (Matthew 11:28-29).
Our praise is still being lifted to the Lord as we daily worship Him. “Let every thing that hath breath praise the LORD. Praise ye the LORD” (Psalm 150:6).
Our trust is still in the Lord, and we acknowledge Him in all our ways. “Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct thy paths” (Proverbs 3:5-6).
I hope that you and I will have the correct focus, praise, and trust as we live for the Lord Jesus. I’ll have several more for you tomorrow.
