“And when they were come into the ship, the wind ceased. Then they that were in the ship came and worshipped Him, saying, Of a truth Thou art the Son of God” (Matthew 14:32-33).
The older I get, the more I am astounded at the mighty, miraculous, all-powerful Savior our Lord Jesus Christ is. Recently I was reading in Matthew 14. This is the account of how the Lord Jesus walked on the water to come to the disciples as they were in the middle of the sea, in the middle of the storm, in the middle of the night. Peter started out toward Christ and began to sink. He was rescued by the Lord, and together the Lord Jesus and Peter walked back and got into the boat. Immediately the storm ended in response to the Creator Lord Jesus (Matthew 14:32). No wonder we read, “Then they that were in the ship came and worshipped Him, saying, Of a truth Thou art the Son of God” (14:33). Though they were in the boat, the idea of “worship” is that they bowed before the Lord, recognized His worthiness, and fully surrendered.
It would seem to me that this is just exactly what you and I need to do every single day! When this takes place, we will begin to learn more and more about several specific things about Him.
We will see again that the Lord is great (Psalm 145:3).
We will see again that the Lord is gracious (Psalm 116:5).
We will see again that the Lord is glorious (Psalm 111:3).
We will see again that the Lord is good (Nahum 1:7).
For today: It will be wonderful if you would take a few moments to look up these verses. Watch how quickly they will apply to your life’s events.
