Karen’s Maintenance Infusion is Completed
Friday June 26th, 2015
When we first began this journey in February, the four heavy-duty rounds of the “big gun” chemotherapies looked so long and so hard. They were very difficult indeed. But here we are. What a milestone we have reached because of the good hand of our great God.
Today Karen began her first infusion of the maintenance chemotherapy. We were at the University Hospital Seidman Cancer Center for only several hours. You’ll smile at this. Karen was being examined by her oncologist Dr. Sidlowski. After checking out her neck and shoulders he stepped back and said, “You are looking really good Karen. I mean really beautiful.” He then looked at me and said, “You, not so much!”
We are so thankful for our oncologist and his team of medical professionals. They are such a blessing in our lives. The infusion went well. She already has the chemo taste. It doesn’t take long to tire her out. She is slowly but surely starting to build up her strength. We are praying that she tolerates this new medication and that it will be very effective.
Thank you so much for your prayers and friendship. It is wonderful having you on the journey with us.
