“Karen’s Notes!
Insights from a Glory-Bound Lady”
Selected Notes
Volume 1 Number 13 “Just Two Words!” July 4, 2018
I have been genuinely overwhelmed with joy at the responses I have received from folks who read “Karen’s Notes.” Some folks never met Karen in person but have expressed that her words have ministered to them in unusual ways which make them feel like they’ve known her for years. Many of Karen’s friends have written with smiley faces saying, “I can just hear Karen say that.” Others have written really serious notes and emails and have shared with me how the Karen’s Notes have arrived at just a time that they needed it most.
Karen would never want these published unless they glorified the Lord and brought help to others. With a smile on my face, I wonder if she, with her glorified voice, is not going to pull on my glorified ear someday and say, “Michael, Michael, Michael. So you shared what I wrote in my Bible.”
I told you that typically Karen was very brief in her writing. She wrote only two words after the underlined two verses we are looking at today. The Lord spoke to her heart through these verses, and I am happy to share this extremely brief note from Karen today.
She underlined these two verses. “I will praise Thee, O Lord my God, with all my heart: and I will glorify Thy name for evermore. For great is Thy mercy toward me: and Thou hast delivered my soul from the lowest hell” (Psalm 86:12-13).
In the margin of Psalm 86:13 this is what she wrote.
Karen wrote: Never forget.
Michael’s observation: We had a grand marriage and really enjoyed our life together. Often we would laugh at the differences in our personalities. If I was making a comment about Psalm 86:12-13, it would take a couple of paragraphs, an illustration and maybe a poem. But my Karen, well friends, these verses spoke to her heart, and everything she needed to say, to do, and to apply to her life are wrapped up in “Never forget.” What else is there to say. “Never forget.”
So friends, be careful not to get so busy today that you forget the really important things. Never forget to praise…never forget His great mercy…never forget the deliverance of my soul. “Never forget.” Just two little words that I need.
