“Karen’s Notes!
Insights from a Glory-Bound Lady”

Selected Notes
Volume 1 Number 14 “Two More Words!” July 11, 2018

I often tell you that my Karen was a lady of few words. You know that we met in the third grade and grew up together. She was an excellent student. However, she struggled on the essay questions. She technically answered correctly, but the teacher wanted more than two brief sentences. Me on the other hand, after writing paragraph after paragraph, I often was told to make this a little more concise!

Last week you chuckled that Karen’s Notes consisted of just two words. She had underlined Psalm 86:12-13 and wrote: “Never forget.” Well friends, you won’t believe this. As I continued looking through her Bible, I discovered several more verses that she had underlined, and of all things, had written two more words.

I am happy to share the verses she underlined. “Thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore” (she circled this word) “my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always” (she circled this word, too) “abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord” (1 Corinthians 15:57-58). The words “therefore” and “always” jumped out to her.

These are the two words that she wrote in the margin of her Bible.

Karen wrote: Press on.

Michael’s observation: Bullseye! She hit the target perfectly. If I were writing about this, I’d seek to develop an outline. I would want to share some of the meanings of these words. I would think of an illustration and application. Sometimes a good poem enhances the thought. But Karen hit it exactly as it was meant to be applied. PRESS ON. That’s what I need to remember for today. How about you?
