“Karen’s Notes!
Insights from a Glory-Bound Lady”

Selected Notes
Volume 1 Number 20 “His Love for Us!” August 22, 2018

This week I have been reading through Karen’s notes that she used to speak at ladies’ conferences. Over twenty-eight years ago she spoke at the Grace Baptist Church of Batavia. The theme of the evening for the ladies was “Baskets of Love.” She appreciated the ministry that Grace Baptist Church had in her life. She was saved through the ministry of Grace Baptist. She was baptized and joined that church as a teenager. She taught Sunday School and Vacation Bible School classes. Eventually, she and I would be married at Grace Baptist Church of Batavia.

The verse she used for her devotional that night was 1 John 3:1, “Behold, what manner of love the Father has bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knows us not, because it knew Him not.” She underlined that verse in her Bible and then wrote several thoughts from which she spoke that evening.

Karen wrote: When it comes to service, I am a practical hands on person. I love doing things. God taught me early in my life the importance of investing in others. This is service. I want to be found faithfully serving Him. Remember, we serve because of His love for us, not for man’s applause. Oh that He would be pleased with our service.

Michael’s observation: As Karen put it, “Oh that He would be pleased with our service.” Thankfully He is not a hard to please parent. I want to serve Him. How about you?
