“Karen’s Notes!
Insights from a Glory-Bound Lady”

Selected Notes
Volume 2 Number 14 “An Investment for Eternity”
April 3rd, 2019

One of the ladies’ retreats was for pastors’ wives. Karen spoke three times in this retreat to ladies from all over the Northeast part of the United States. Karen loved being a pastor’s wife. She loved the church family, and they loved her as well.

In these three sessions, she spoke of the practical and precious opportunity the Lord gives pastors’ wives to serve. She goes on to say that it is not just the pastor’s wife who is to do the work of the ministry. Here are several verses that she used to conclude her third session and the statement she wrote to finalize the retreat.
“Serve the Lord with gladness. Come before His presence with singing. Know ye that the LORD He is God: it is He that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are His people, and the sheep of His pasture” (Psalm 100:2-3).

Karen wrote: “Jesus took time with His disciples to talk with them, give of Himself to them, and to love them unconditionally. He built relationships. With His help, we can do the same. What an opportunity is ours!”

Michael’s observation: We are the sheep of His pasture! To me this is a wonderful and glorious blessing. Right here and now, we are His sheep. Forever we will be together with our great Shepherd, our awesome Lord. Two years ago tomorrow, as I was holding her hand, Karen went Home to be with Jesus at around 10:30 at night.

Over the next weeks, I discovered how many people her life had impacted. Building relationships is not just for pastors’ wives. As His sheep, it is a great blessing and opportunity as we reach people and build into their lives. I want to be this kind of believer. How about you?
