“Karen’s Notes!
Insights from a Glory-Bound Lady”

Selected Notes
Volume 2 Number 19 “The Next Time You Sing!”
May 8th, 2019

Karen had very little room to write very much in the margin of her Bible at Psalm 47:7. This will be among the shorter of her notes. But it has both challenged me and encouraged me to share her words with our many, many friends. Let me share the verse and then her notes.

“Sing praise to God, sing praises: sing praises unto our King, sing praises. For God is the King of all the earth: sing ye praises with understanding” (Psalm 47:6-7).

Karen wrote: “Pay attention to the words of the songs we sing!”

Michael’s observation: That’s it! That’s all the room she had to write this note. Underlining the part about singing praises with understanding, she wrote her notes about paying attention to what we sing. I can remember hearing her as she encouraged our children that when we worship the Lord through singing, we must think of what we’re saying to Him and about Him to others. No hymn or spiritual song should be sung without thinking about the message we are singing.
Thanks, Karen, for the very brief reminder to “pay attention.”
