Volume 2 Number 44 “I Wonder What She Was Preparing?” Part Two
October 30th, 2019
Here’s what I shared last week. I have no idea what the event was for which she was studying. In fact, I almost didn’t open it. But I’m glad that I did. In one of her notebooks I discovered a folded sheet of yellow lined paper. There was lots of “doodling” with a few thoughts and some scratching on it. This was a rough draft of something she was preparing. But I think I’ve discovered enough of her train of thought to share with you for the next couple of Wednesdays.
Here is the text she was beginning to study through. “Trust in the LORD, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed. Delight thyself also in the LORD; and He shall give thee the desires of thine heart. Commit thy way unto the LORD; trust also in Him; and He shall bring it to pass” (Psalm 37:3-5).
Last week I pulled out some phrases and thoughts on attitude # 1: “Trusting.” This week we come to attitude # 2: “Delighting.” Remember, these thoughts come from a very rough draft with incomplete sentences. Let me just share what she was thinking.
Karen wrote: “Delight” v. 4. Desires of heart. That which brings great joy. Priority- Get to know Him. Mediate on Who He is. Love letter- pour over His Word.
Michael’s observation: I suspect that I probably will discover her finished notes someday in one of her Bible Study journals. I think you can see what was on her heart in a preliminary way in her study. I especially love the insight about God’s Word being a love letter. I need to lovingly and eagerly pour over it.
