Karen was preparing for an upcoming ladies’ conference. In one of the sessions she would be sharing Biblical principles from 1 Corinthians 6:19-20. Before I share these verses with you, may I quickly remind the men who are reading Karen’s Notes that this is good for us as well. Though Karen only accepted invitations to speak at ladies’ retreats, God’s Word is practical, powerful, and personal for both men and women.
“What? Know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit which is in you, which you have of God, and you are not your own? For you are bought with a price: therefore, glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s” (1 Corinthians 6:19-20).
Karen wrote: The question of the hour is what is more important to me? Is it more important what God KNOWS about me or what people THINK of me? Remember, man looks on the outward appearance, but God looks on the heart.
Michael’s observation: Though I deliberately try to get to the heart of the matter quickly with my words, Karen had a unique way of being able to achieve that goal. The question “What is more important to me?” speaks to my heart. While it is important what people THINK for my testimony sake, it is far more important what God KNOWS about me. Once again I am challenged by my sweet Karen and her Bible study journal notes.
