Karen’s Notes!
Insights from a Glory-Bound Lady”

Selected Notes
Volume 4 Number 4 “This Changes Everything!”

January 27th, 2021

In 2008 on April 25th and 26th Karen spoke at the ladies’ retreat of the First Baptist Church of Lagrange, Ohio. I believe she used as an illustration something we had talked about and I often used in my preaching.

My grandfather held several elected positions in our township. One of those positions was the town justice of the peace. I can remember several times being at my grandparents’ when my grandfather held court in his house. I had to promise to be very quiet! After court was completed and the police officer and offender left, I would go in and stand beside my grandpa as he did the paperwork. Think of it! He was the same person but functioned as judge to the offender and beloved grandfather to this grandson. It is the perfect illustration of the Lord Jesus. He will be the Judge for the offender who refuses Him (Revelation 20:11-5). He also will be the Bridegroom eagerly welcoming His beloved redeemed (1 Thessalonians 4:13-18).

Karen was speaking on the sheer joy of knowing the Lord Jesus as our Savior. For those who have placed their faith in Him, never will they face Him as Judge. He is our beloved Lord and Savior. We rejoice in belonging to Him. Here is one of the verses she used in this retreat.

“My voice shall Thou hear in the morning, O LORD; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto Thee, and will look up” (Psalm 5:3).

Karen wrote: As a believer, we will not face God as the Judge nor will we experience His wrath. Praise the Lord! However, along the “road of life” we will have daily opportunities to sense His presence through:

1. His grace (Ephesians 2:8,9; 1 Corinthians 3:10).
2. His greatness (She then briefly refers to several of the events found in the book of Exodus and concludes with the word “Wow!”)
3. His goodness (Psalm 34:7-9).
4. His glory (Exodus 24:17; Acts 7:55-56).

Michael’s observation: I would love to share the material with you that she had in her main points for this ladies’ conference. But suffice it to say that today I want to be thankful for His grace, bow before His greatness, celebrate and appreciate His goodness and anticipate seeing His glory. Friends, I want to sense His presence. How about you?
