“Karen’s Notes!
Insights from a Glory-Bound Lady”
Selected Notes
Volume 4 Number 51, “Something We Must Do Often!”
December 22nd, 2021
I have come across a workshop that Karen presented many years ago. Somehow these conference notes were placed in a different spot from where Karen typically kept her notes. I suspect she pulled these out to use in conversation in a one-to-one counseling appointment. I’m glad I found these notes to use on this Wednesday before Christmas.
The Scripture text that Karen used is Psalm 105:1-5. She developed five points in her conference worksheet concerning actively worshipping. This will give us such sweet peace even in troubled times. Karen shared the following, and we have looked at these: 1. Give thanks to Him (105:1). 2. Sing to Him (105:2). 3. Glorify Him (105:3). Thank you for allowing me to share some thoughts from her handwritten notes.
Karen wrote: 4. Seek the Lord. “Seek the LORD and His strength; Seek His face evermore!” (Psalm 105:4). Think of it. We are to seek His face. The idea of seeking is to resort to, as a frequent place. When the Bible speaks about “His face” there is much we could say. Basically, there is the element of recognition and desiring His presence.
Then comes the word “evermore” which reminds us that we are to be seeking His face, enjoying His presence, and desiring fellowship as something that we must do frequently throughout the day.
Michael’s observation: If you are anything like me, I know what I SHOULD do. It is a case of me doing what I know I MUST do. The Lord says to me, “Michael (and all your friends!), ‘Seek the LORD and His strength; Seek His face evermore!’” (Psalm 105:4).
As you and your family celebrate the birth of our Savior, don’t let the busyness of the season keep you from the reason we celebrate. On behalf of my family and all my ministry partners that make “Karen’s Notes” a part of your Wednesday, may I wish you a very Blessed Incarnation Day.
