“Karen’s Notes!
Insights from a Glory-Bound Lady”
Selected Notes
Volume 4 Number 52, “Play the Tape Again!”
December 29th, 2021
In just a few days we will celebrate the conclusion of 2021 and stand in anticipation of the arrival of 2022. How timely it is to have discovered an entire set of conference notes that Karen shared in 2010. She entitled this workshop “Peace in Troubled Times!”
One of the ways that we as believers can have peace is to actively worship Him. Karen shared five points directly from Psalm 105 with the ladies at this conference. Men, these same principles are great for us as well. So, men and ladies, as this year comes to a conclusion, I want to thank you for stopping by once again today.
Here are the points from previous posts. These are from Psalm 105.
1. Give thanks to Him (105:1).
2. Sing to Him (105:2).
3. Glorify Him (105:3).
4. Seek Him (105:4).
Let’s come to number 5 today.
Karen wrote: 5. Remember! “Remember His marvelous works which He has done, His wonders, and the judgments of His mouth” (105:5). What a great word! Remember is zakar (zaw-KAR) which gives the idea of “to recall, to call to mind, to cause to be remembered.” We call it “replay the tape!”
Think of the many wonderful blessings the Lord has brought into your lives.
Michael’s interruption: First of all, you can tell that this material was written quite some time ago as she spoke of the replaying the tape! Second of more importance, Karen wrote a few very personal things to herself as she reviewed this workshop. She listed five very personal things that the Lord did for us throughout our lifetime together. She and I wanted to remember these things. I am sure that you have things that you could list that you must bring to remembrance.
Karen continued: Think of what the children of Israel needed to remember. God brought them through the Red Sea. He cared for them in the wilderness those many years. How awesome was the pillar of fire! How faithful was the provision of the manna. He brought them through the Jordan River. He gave them so many victories. Now the Psalmist calls on them to remember His marvelous works.
Michael’s brief observation: The year 2021 is rapidly concluding. In just a matter of a few brief days, 2022 will be here. We need to remember His marvelous works. He is truly awesome in all that He does. What would be on your list of things to remember He did in this past year? “Play the tape again” my friends and remember His wonderful works. May your worship be precious as you look to Him.
