Volume 5 Number 41 “Now That Makes Me Stop and Worship!”

You know that my wife only spoke to ladies and children’s groups. However, it is interesting to me how many men on a weekly basis privately indicate to me that something she wrote really spoke to their heart and their present situation. It is also interesting that every once in a while a lady will contact me and say, “I read the little part you shared from one of Karen’s conference notes. I think I was in that conference.”

A number of years ago, Karen was the ladies’ retreat speaker in which she spoke on Friday night and twice on Saturday. Here’s just a tiny part of one paragraph from her notes. It focuses on the importance of us not allowing things to rob us of our sense of awe and worship of our great God. Here’s the verse and then a portion of paragraph from Karen’s notes.

“To whom then will you liken Me, or shall I be equal? saith the Holy One” (Isaiah 40:25).

Karen wrote: Think of the Lord’s questions. He asks to whom will you compare Me and just exactly who would be My equal? The obvious answer is that He alone is God. Think of how God answers His own questions. He responds by saying,
“Lift up your eyes on high, and behold Who hath created these things, that bringeth out the host by number: He calleth them all by name by the greatness of His might, for that He is strong in power; not one faileth” (Isaiah 41:26).
Think of Who God is. He is the eternal One, the Creator, Master Designer Who holds all power (omnipotent) and knows all (omniscient). Whatever you are facing today, remember He doesn’t faint and His wisdom is inexhaustible.

Michael’s observation: It is beyond impressive to realize that our great Lord knows the number of the stars; He has them all named individually; He upholds them in their orbits; and yet He knows and cares about us as well. There’s no one and absolutely nothing that compares to our great God. He is great in might and strong in power. Watch how this will play out in your life if you intentionally are looking, stopping, and worshipping.
