“Karen’s Notes!
Insights from a Glory-Bound Lady”

Selected Notes
Volume 5 Number 49 “A Few Thoughts She Wrote to Herself!” December 7th, 2022

I was so greatly blessed personally.

In one of Karen’s spiritual notebooks, on the top of the page, was listed the date, December 1st, 2013, where I was speaking at the Abbe Road Baptist Church of Elyria, Ohio. My text took us to the announcement by the angel to the shepherds concerning the birth of Christ. Let me share the text, and then I’ll pass along what Karen wrote.

“And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David, a Savior which is Christ the Lord” (Luke 2:10-11).

Without sharing a lot more of the details of the message, this is the outline I preached and Karen wrote down.

Karen wrote:
1. The cradle: “Unto you is born this day”
2. The cross: “Savior” (Luke 2:11b)
3. The crown: “Christ the Lord, the city of David”

Karen went on to write a couple of extra things to herself based on what the angel told the shepherds.

Her thoughts:
1. This calms my fears: “Fear not” (2:10a).
2. This demands my attention: “Behold” (2:10b).
3. This thrills my heart: “Good tidings of great joy” (2:10c).

Michael’s observation: She highlighted “Good tidings of great joy!” I just can’t help but think that this is exactly what you and I need today as the next few weeks will be filled with wonderful and yet very busy activities.
