Volume 6 Number 5 “Five Certainties to Embrace with Joy”
February 1, 2023
Thank you to all who took time to participate in my survey over the past few days. After much prayer and based on your amazing response and encouragement, I sense that Karen’s Notes are still wanted and needed today. My heart is filled with gratitude that you have allowed me to share a glimpse into not only Karen’s teachings and her notes, but her heart as well. As I continue “Karen’s Notes,” please be watching next week for the new layout and format her notes will take. For today, here are several things I know Karen would want us to remember (I do as well!).
Karen would want you to know: I met her in the third grade and we grew up together. All it took was one date in the middle of our senior year of high school and we never dated anyone else. I had the joy and privilege of being married to this lady for over forty-five years. I know what Karen would want you to know. She believed and embraced these certainties on the best and happiest days of her life as well as the deepest and most heartbreaking days of her life.
1. We can truly believe the Bible. It is the Word of God. “All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness…” (2 Timothy 3:16).
2. We can truly know the joy of salvation. It is the gift of God. “But God commended His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord” (Romans 5:8; 6:23).
3. We can truly grow in our knowledge. It is the plan of God. “But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To Him be glory both now and forever. Amen” (2 Peter 3:15).
4. We can truly change our old ways. It is the instruction of God. “This I say, therefore, and testify in the Lord, that you should no longer walk as the rest of the Gentiles walk, in the futility of their mind, having their understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God, because of the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart; who, being past feeling have given themselves over to lewdness, to work all the uncleanness with greediness. But you have not so learned Christ, if indeed you have heard Him and have been taught by Him, as the truth is in Jesus: that you put off, concerning your former conduct, the old man which grows corrupt according to the deceitful lusts, and be renewed in the spirit of your mind, and that you put on the new man which was created according to God, in true righteousness and holiness” (Ephesians 4:17-24) NKJV.
5. We can truly represent the Lord. It is the ambassadorship of God. “Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: We pray you in Christ’s stead, be ye reconciled to God” (2 Corinthians 5:20).
Michael’s last word: Thank you again, dear friends. May the Lord bless you richly. Be sure to be watching next Wednesday for another edition of “Karen’s Notes!”
