“Karen’s Notes!
Insights from a Glory-Bound Lady”

Selected Notes

# 295 “The Sheer Miracle of Christmas!”
Well! Well! Well! Look where she got this outline!

December 20th, 2023

She took notes on my sermon! I was looking through some of the notes Karen wrote in her Bible study journal. There it was! Bless her heart. She always took notes on the messages I preached. Recently I discovered in her notes a message I preached well over twenty years ago.

“And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth” (John 1:14).

From Karen’s Notebook:

1. It is miraculous. “The Word was made flesh” (John 1:14a). He was 100% God and 100% man. Word made flesh- miraculous!

2. It is meaningful. “And dwelt among us” (John 1:14b). He dwelled among us; this speaks of being close by (Hebrews 4:15-16).

3. It is mighty. “We beheld His glory” (John 1:14c). How great is His splendor.

4. It is marvelous. “Full of grace and truth” (John 1:14d). He was completely perfect in balance.

I stand in awe of Him.

This is so Karen: While many commentators write pages of application to the incredible miracle of John 1:14, my Karen, in her typical “to-the-point” brevity concludes it incredibly well.

“I stand in awe of Him!”

So do I. While our Christmas plans may be very different this year, may we truly stand in awe of Him. From my heart to your home, Blessed Incarnation Day!
