“Karen’s Notes!
Insights from a Glory-Bound Lady”

Selected Notes
Volume 7 Number 1
# 297 “Michael! You are So Bad!”
January 3rd, 2024

We loved the things that made each of us special to the other. One of the many, many things about my Karen that I loved is the fact that she absolutely loved, loved, loved the changing seasons. However, she absolutely didn’t love having her home rearranged.

Outside, the seasons changed. Inside, the furniture stayed in their places.

I’ll tell you about how bad I was with the household items never being rearranged in a moment. But first, let me remind you that we as the people of the Lord are highly privileged to know that His promises never change. What a responsibility comes because of this great blessing.

Here is the verse in her Bible study journal and a look at what she wrote.

“Let your conduct be without covetousness; be content with such things as you have. For He Himself has said, ‘I will never leave you nor forsake you’” (Hebrews 13:5).

He has promised never to leave me nor forsake me. It is my responsibility to walk with Him and give Him first place in all areas of my life. Colossians 2:6, 7 says, “As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in Him: rooted and built up in Him and established in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving.”

Off you go with a smile. We laughed a lot together. When Karen would be speaking at a ladies’ event, or even just running an errand, I loved to tease her by moving a piece of furniture or something on the wall. When she would return home, I would hear her call out, “Michael Jeffrey! You have been at it again, haven’t you?” We’d laugh about how it could be that someone who so loved the constantly changing seasons did not like changes inside.

Maybe you don’t like the changes that have come into your life. The key to navigating through these difficult changes is living for Him as you walk with Him and learning to become content in Him. He will never leave you!
