Welcome and let me share this with you for a smile. We often chuckled about it. Family teased us about it. Friends laughed with us about it. Do you know of what I am writing?
If you are new to “Karen’s Notes,” let me share the humor with you. Simply stated, it is that Karen was a person of fewer words. I am the one who has way too many words! Karen had the incredible way of getting to the point quickly and clearly. Sometimes I circle a little before landing the plane! With that in mind, let me share with you something I found. It is so Karen!
The discovery was in one of Karen’s Bible study journals. She apparently paused at Isaiah 43:1 and thought a little about this amazing security of belonging to the Lord. Let me share the text, and then I’ll share with you what she wrote.
“But now thus saith the LORD that created thee, O Jacob, and He that formed thee, O Israel, Fear not: for I have redeemed thee, I have called by thy name; thou art mine” (Isaiah 43:1).
In typical Karen fashion, here is what she wrote at Isaiah 41:1:
1. It is POWERFUL “I have redeemed thee” (1a)
2. It is PERSONAL “I have called thee by name” (1b)
3. It is PRECIOUS “Thou art mine” (1c)
Because of these three, “FEAR NOT!”
Something I want you to know for sure: The powerful, personal, and precious promise of the Lord does not make us uncaring or unfeeling in the difficult days. We still have tears and suffer sorrow in the really hard trials. But there is a peace that settles our hearts as we hear our awesome God speak to us from His Word, “Fear not!” I saw Karen living this verse out in the happy days as well as the hard days.
That’s what you and I want to do as well, right? Thanks so much for stopping by.
