“Let us come before His presence with thanksgiving, and make a joyful noise unto Him with psalms. For the LORD is a great God, and a great King above all gods. In His hand are the deep places of the earth: the strength of the hills is His also. The sea is His, and He made it: and His hands formed the dry land. O come, let us worship and bow down: let us kneel before the LORD our maker. For He is our God; and we are the people of His pasture, and the sheep of His hand” (Psalm 95:2-7).
I’m smiling because often when I leave my friends in the middle of the story, I hear from them!!! Yesterday I began telling you about a man I will name Richard who was transferred into a troublesome department. It was a department where it seemed like everyone was putting self first rather than pulling together as a team. It was an awful place at the time. Then enters Richard who had such a positive attitude. One afternoon he was softly whistling the hymn “How Great Thou Art.” Cantankerous Lenny and Marie stopped outside his door. Lenny snarled, “What is with you?” Looking up from his keyboard, Richard quietly said, “Well, to tell you the truth, the Lord has put a song in my heart and reminded me that I have a lot for which to be thankful. Why, Lenny, He’s even made it possible for me to get to meet you and work with you, Marie, and the rest of the team! How could I help but sing and give thanks to the Lord?” Totally disarmed, Lenny was struck with how terribly he had treated Richard. “Whatever he has is real, and I need it,” he thought to himself. It was the tiniest of beginnings, but it was indeed the start of that department turning around.
For today: Without putting on a fake show, who today will see you living out Psalm 95:2-7?
