It was my first business meeting in Marilla, New York.
I had been their pastor for just a couple of weeks.
I still hardly knew their names.
I can still remember the joy, excitement, and trust in that business meeting as a very major vote was taken.
“I know thy works: Behold, I have set before thee an open door, and no man can shut it: for thou hast a little strength, and hast kept My word, and has not denied My name” (Revelation 3:8).
It was a very powerful day at the church. After months of praying and asking the Lord for wisdom and direction, this was the day that the First Baptist Church would vote on moving forward and entering a major building project.
Several stood to speak in the business meeting. Good questions were asked and thoroughly and lovingly answered by the men who were leading the meeting. After all the questions were addressed, the chairman of the deacons said, “Folks, we have waited for this day for a long time. Now if the Lord is in this, it will be like a great open door.” It would be just like that throughout the building project. They would see and appreciate the blessing of the Lord upon the ministry in ways that only the Lord could orchestrate.
Here’s something to take with you today: What is the Lord leading you to do? Do you have His clear leading? Watch for His open door that will enable you to do things that you never imagined. If you are facing an open door, just be sure it is from the Lord. There’s nothing like His blessings!
