“Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you” (Philippians 4:9).
Pastor and Mrs. Kenward were greeting the church family at one of the exits of the church. As he was shaking hands with many people following the morning service, he noticed a lady positioning herself to get into their line. He assumed that she wanted to speak with his wife about the upcoming ladies activity. However, he was wrong. As the lady shook his hand she said, “Pastor Kenward, I wanted you to know about the impact you are making upon even the youngest of your church family. Yesterday I went into Caleb’s room. He had all of his sister’s stuffed animals lined up and I heard him say, “Good Morning. My name is Pastor Kenward and today I am going to preach from the Bible. I should go on to mention that he also told everyone to be quiet! I am not sure where that came from. But I wanted you to know that he respects and loves you and wants to be just like you.” Before the dear pastor could say a word to her, she smiled and said, “So stay close to the Lord. My six year old wants to be just like you.” What a great reminder for the pastor and what a great reminder for each of us. Others are watching and we should be living in such a way that we could say with the Apostle Paul what he told the church at Philippi.
For today: May we be a faithful testimony of what the Lord is doing in our lives.
