Nothing is average or typical about the Lord Jesus. Nothing. Come to an ancient well and meet a broken, sinful, and desperately needy woman. Watch once again the perfectly sinless Son of God work in ways only He can do.

“The woman then left her water pot, and went her way into the city, and saith to the men, Come see a man which told me all things that ever I did: is not this the Christ?” (John 4:28-29).

You are familiar with the account of the Samaritan woman at the well (John 4:1-30). To a place where Jewish men typically would never travel, the Lord Jesus traveled. To a woman that Jewish men typically would never speak to, the Lord Jesus spoke. Into a life and situation that desperately needed Him, the Lord Jesus not only stepped, He saved and changed this sinful woman that day. Her priorities so drastically changed that it is no wonder she forgot her water pot! Everyone needed to hear this good news and off to her city she went. I wonder if our lives reflect that amazing change of priorities that the Lord Jesus makes!
