“Lazarus is dead” (John 11:14). “When Jesus therefore saw her weeping, and the Jews also weeping which came with her, He groaned in the spirit, and was troubled, And said, Where have you laid him? Jesus wept (John 11:33-35).
How personal and precious it is to see the Lord Jesus stepping into the hurts and sorrows of those around us. I am so glad that our Saviour is not only 100% the perfect Son of God; he is also 100% man as well. He wept. I’ve wondered if He wept because He saw the sorrow others were experiencing. I’ve wondered if it was because he saw once again the results of sin coming into His creation. Or, could it possibly be, that He wept for Lazarus because He knew that in just seconds He would call Lazarus to come back into this sin-cursed wicked world where Lazarus would once again die someday? Perhaps it was for all three reasons the Lord wept. What are you facing today? I hope it doesn’t sound insignificant for me to say to you that the Lord Jesus cares about you and your situation. He wants to enter into it with you. Trust Him fully today. You’ll be glad that you did.
For today: I always want you to know that your situations are significant to the Lord. He wants to enter into these situations with you. He really does care about you.
