“If the world hate you, ye know that it hated Me before it hated you” (John 15:18).
A mechanic who knows and loves the Lord Jesus was placed in an awkward situation. A sales manager directed him to tell the customer that he needed a rather expensive repair which was not necessary. Quietly Frank told his boss, “I won’t do it. I love my job. I love working here. But if you order me to lie, I cannot do it.” Life became miserable for him at work. He survived it by reminding himself, “They really don’t hate me, Lord. They really hate You.” How about you, friend? If you are hated for doing right, be sure to have a Godly attitude and remember just Who they really hate. It’s not so much you. It is that they hate your Lord.
For today: While you are growing to love the Lord more, don’t be surprised if the world loves you less!
