“He is not here: for He is risen, as He said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay. And go quickly, and tell His disciples, that He is risen from the dead” (Matthew 28:6-7).
What great news! What amazing news! The disciples must have been in agony since their beloved One died a savage and vicious death on the Roman cross. Three days and nights have passed. The sorrow and mourning must have been intense among those dear people. Peter suffered exceptional agony as one who denied even knowing the Lord Jesus. The women who were eyewitnesses of His death could not get this out of their minds. But now everything was about to change. It is Sunday morning, and the women are met by angels with the announcement that would change their lives and ours! He is risen! Death could not hold Him. The grave could not keep Him. The Father’s stamp of approval was on the perfect sacrifice of the Son. He arose!
For today: May your celebration of the risen Savior be sweet not only today but every day!
