“Ye are my witnesses, saith the LORD, and my servant whom I have chosen: that ye may know and believe Me, and understand that I am He: before me there was no God formed, neither shall there be after me. I, even I, am the LORD; and beside me there is no Savior. I have declared, and have saved, and I have showed, when there was no strange god among you: therefore ye are my witnesses, saith the LORD, that I am God” (Isaiah 43:12).
Through the prophet Isaiah, God reached out again and again to the people of Judah. Did they learn the lesson of what happens when a nation rebels against the Lord? Did they learn anything from the apostasy and exile of the ten northern tribes? Apparently not many learned the lesson. With an ever-increasing wickedness in their culture, called to be a witness of Who He is and what position He holds alone, God called on them to understand, to think clearly and arrive at the correct conclusion. He is God. They are accountable to Him. There is no other God and no other Savior.
For today: I rest secure in the wonderful truth that there is one God and one Savior. I’m thrilled to belong to Him. How about you?
