“But He knoweth the way that I take: when He hath tried me, I shall come forth as gold” (Job 23:10).
Adrian’s twenty-four hour shift was finally over, and he was glad to be home. After a long hug from his wife and the squeals of his two young children, he turned to talk with his wife. “I had the strangest thing happen in the middle of the night. A custodian was heading home and was hit head-on by a drunk driver. The custodian was trapped and severely injured. I know that he was hurting terribly. Honey, do you know what he said when I started the IV inside his mangled car?” Adrian was silent for a moment and then started to cry. His wife, Tiffany, took his arm. Adrian continued, “He said, ‘Thanks for coming so quickly. I’m a complete stranger, but here you are with me. Son, I know and love Jesus and want you to know Him too.’ Then he quoted a Bible verse about God knowing the way he took and that God never makes a mistake. I’ve never had anyone speak to me about the Lord like that.”
For today: The same Lord knows the way that you and I will take today. How will this fact be worked out in our lives today?
