“I am the LORD, and there is none else, there is no God beside me…That they may know from the rising of the sun, and from the west, that there is none beside me. I am the LORD, and there is none else” (Isaiah 45:5-6).
Two business travelers struck up a conversation at the boarding gate after one man noticed the other reading a New Testament. “Hey, if you don’t mind me asking, are you reading the Bible?” the friendly traveler asked. “It is indeed,” replied the believer. A good conversation rapidly developed into an exchange with a man who obviously didn’t know the Lord. This non-believing man claimed that all religions are true and that there are many gods all of whom are worthy and true. The believer whispered silently to the Lord, “Help me to know just how to answer him.” Suddenly the illustration was right before their eyes. “Look, friend, at the gate counter. There’s our pilot, our captain. There is only one senior captain for our flight. There’s only one pilot for our aircraft. Everyone here in the boarding area may claim to be a pilot. They might even sound pretty good. But when we board this aircraft and in a few moments roar down the runway, we have one pilot. It’s the same in life. There is one Lord. Only one. While it may not be politically correct, that’s the way it truly is.” Aren’t you glad to belong to the One and only God!
For today: I’m going to rejoice in knowing the LORD. He alone is God! Hallelujah!
