“But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asks you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear” (1 Peter 3:14).

What a powerful verse! First we must set the Lord apart and give Him first place in our hearts. Then we are to ask the Lord to help us to have a readiness to answer questions about our hope. This answer is not to be given in an arrogant or overbearing way. Rather it is to be given graciously, quietly, and respectfully. How many people will cross your path today that need to hear of your assurance in the Lord? Ask the Lord to help you to be intentional in your witness and alert in your readiness.
