“Thou art my God, and I will praise Thee: Thou art my God, I will exalt Thee. O give thanks unto the LORD; for He is good: for His mercy endures for ever” (Psalm 118:28-29).
It’s easy to say that “God is good” when everything is going well. I’ve heard people say “God is good” when their prayer was answered the way in which they hoped. I’ve heard people say “God is good” when they have been blessed financially or when things are well in their family. What they are saying is most certainly true. God is indeed good.
But I want to tell you that “God is good” in the oncology center.
“God is good” in the Intensive Care Unit.
“God is good” when the Life Flight Helicopter is on the way for you.
“God is good” in the difficult situation at work.
“God is good” when your locker won’t open and the class bell is going to sound soon.
“God is good” when the tire is flat.
“God is good”… in whatever situation you are facing today. You can still be thankful because of His goodness and mercy. Rather than grumbling, I want to be careful to praise Him today. How about you?
Here’s what I will be thinking about today: He is my God. He is my good God. He is my good and merciful God. No wonder I am going to praise Him! He has a plan and purpose for us today.
