“God is faithful, by whom ye were called unto the fellowship of His Son Jesus Christ our Lord” (1 Corinthians 1:9).
“It was the most embarrassing moment of my life, Honey,” Sam said to his wife. “We were invited into the home of a person that neither Pastor nor I knew. An elderly man told us to come on in, and before we knew it, his wife joined us. He told us where to sit, and as soon as I sat on the old chair, I could sense it was wobbly. I mean it was very wobbly. Before long it totally gave out. I was on the floor with a crashing thud!” Sam said. He was humiliated, and yet he couldn’t help but smile as he thought about it. Later that week he was presenting the devotional to the teens at his church. He used the old chair that couldn’t be trusted to show that it was opposite of the Lord. “God is faithful. This means that He can be fully trusted. You can’t break Him. He is fully trustworthy. Oh teens, do I have a story to tell you that happened to me this past Saturday.” It was a great illustration. You should have heard the teens laughing. Several of them never forgot the picture as it relates to the faithfulness of God.
For today: You can trust the Lord. No burden is too heavy. No difficulty will break Him. He is fully dependable. He’s faithful.
