“For me to live is Christ, and to die is gain. For I am in a strait between two, having a desire to depart, and to be with Christ which is far better: Nevertheless to abide in the flesh is more needful for you” (Philippian 1:21-24).
I was explaining to my health care provider why my focus was so on Heaven. How wonderful it is to know the Lord Jesus and to belong to Him. I want to do everything that the Lord Jesus wants me to do. I want to experience everything He has planned for me. I want to enjoy my family, hug my children, spoil my grandchildren, serve my awesome Lord, encourage the saints and be consistent in sharing with those who need the Lord Jesus. But! This is a “slam on the brakes and don’t miss this point!” The focus that compels me to do all these things is Christ and eternity with Him. I am not quite sure that my health care team that was answering my email today was quite ready for such a statement of joy at the thought of eternity. How about you? Are you excited about eternity and being Home with the Lord?
For today: When the Lord is ready for me to meet Him, I am more than ready for Him to call me Home. How is it with you?
